Mechina, a six-week introductory program, is designed for the beginner who has little or no background in Jewish studies. Here the modern Jewish woman will get the information she needs to make informed and intelligent choices about her Judaism.

Studies in Mechina expose the student to Jewish philosophy, history, and laws and customs. From classes on Maimonides to classes on free will, ethics, love, and marriage, the student is informed, challenged, and excited.

A spirit of open exchange permeates the classroom. Students are encouraged to question, and all topics are open for consideration. Discussions take place both in class and on an informal basis. Individual tutorials, which provide a personal framework for developing learning skills and attitudes, are an important feature of the program
