The Bnos Sarah Seminary is a one-year teachers training program for
recent Bais Yaakov high school graduates who are seeking an advanced
academic curriculum in Limudei Kodesh. The school is located on the
beautiful campus of Neve Yerushalayim in Har Nof, Yerushalayim.
Bnos Sarah’s challenging curriculum places great emphasis on
in-depth study of Tanach and instills an appreciation of Jewish
learning and spiritual values. A high standard of excellence is
maintained throughout the school year. Students are exposed to
instructors who are well known outstanding Torah personalities as
well as skilled teachers.
In addition to taking high-level courses in limudei kodesh, students
participate in seminars in pedagogy and methodology conducted by
prominent figures in the field of Jewish education. They also
observe experienced teachers at work and engage in supervised
student teaching in actual classroom settings. As a result, the
teachers-in-training are well prepared for a teaching career.
Successful graduates of Bnos Sarah receive a diploma qualifying them
to teach in Jewish schools throughout the Diaspora.
Supplementing the academic studies at Bnos Sarah is an extensive
extra- curricular program, which includes touring throughout Israel,
Shabbos experiences throughout the country, and Yimey Iyun. Students
also participate in writing and producing a major musical show that
is performed for charitable purposes.
Heading the Bnos Sarah program are Mrs. Judy Epstein, principal and
Mrs. Esther Malka Zalaznik, curriculum director. Together they
combine the best of American and Israeli approaches to seminary
education.
